Bluelight flight a hit for Woolson kids

15 kids from Te Waka Unua School (formerly Woolson Primary School) arrived at NZRT looking a bit anxious.

Eight keen AOPA pilots were well briefed and coffee’d up. Half flew north and half headed south around the city. (Well, that’s not quite right as our esteemed senior pilot, Fred Bull in his trusty 90hp Cub, headed into the hills to his favourite backcountry.)

Fred, who will not see 80 again except in the rear vision mirror, pilots his aircraft with mastery: his handling is a lesson in accuracy.

15 kids arrived back for lunch with grins all over their faces. The volume of chatter and laughter was the sort of sound which makes ‘Bluelight’ all worthwhile.
