Manoeuvring an aircraft at low altitude is something we do on every flight, without giving it much thought.
While it’s not much different than manoeuvring at altitude, the slow speed and low altitude decrease the margins for error. The Air Safety Institute team in the United States has put together a video to talk about how to safely manoeuvre aircraft down low.
Even if you are an experienced pilot, it’s well worth having a look at this video to familiarise yourself with steps you can take to keep safe and do the right thing when manoeuvering at low altitude.
