AOPA NZ produces a calendar each year. This is a showcase of the combined passion many of our members have for flying and photography.
We produce the calendar as a member benifit but it is also a great tool for promoting AOPA NZ and General Aviation to people outside our membership.
Photographs submitted may appear in the Calendar, on our website or in our Approach Magazine.
What we are looking for in a photo.
- Photos need to be of good resolution. A photo taken from a social media post often does not have sufficient resolution.
- Generally a photo in its raw form before being edited by the photographer is best. From your phone or camera.
- Please don’t ever send via WhatsApp or Facebook as that platform downgrades quality.
- Photos of aircraft in use, photos of groups of aircraft at destinations, photos of groups of people with aircraft, photos of aircraft with great scenery.
- We love photos with the X factor. Every year we get comments about aircraft types that did not make the calendar.
- We can only put in photos that we receive. 🙂
- Decisions to publish are made by a working group at AOPA NZ – sorry that we can’t always publish every photo for various reasons.
3 easy steps
- Take the photo. It needs to be of good resolution. Typically it needs to be able to be viewed on a full size ipad or laptop in full screen with no degradation to the eye to look good in print. Generally speaking the bigger the better.
- Sent your photo one photo per email as an attachment to calendar.photos@aopa.nz. Please include in the email Subject : a) Who took it b) when, where and who is in it
- Sit back, relax and wait to find out if your photo is in the calendar
